On the Road for Cancer Awareness

Cancervive ambassador, TV personality and businesswoman Janie du Plessis learns new skills at the AMG Driving Academy.

She's a high-profile cancer survivor who is committed to spreading a message of hope and recovery to impoverished areas. In September this year, Janie du Plessis and more than 60 other participants in the annual Cancervive motorbike ride will vroom off on the annual event – a 2 600km round-trip motorbike journey from Pretoria through Bethlehem, Clarens and Kimberley.

Through music, dance and drama, survivors and supporters on the Cancervive ride will focus on telling educational stories of encouragement, care and support to vulnerable communities.

As the official transport sponsor for the event, Mercedes-Benz South Africa invited Janie to a day at the AMG Driving Academy in Centurion, where she had the opportunity to learn advanced driving techniques ahead of her upcoming journey.

Watch her experience below.
